We are a small studio, dedicated to our attention to detail. We work across the residential design space and collaborate closely with home-owners to design, document and build highly considered spaces.
Our studio in Leichhardt is our collaborative workspace and we welcome our clients to experience the design process as we test, iterate and refine our craft.

Joey believes the most successful homes are born from a deep understanding of the people who will live in them, bringing care, insight, and dedication to every project.
With extensive qualifications in architecture and construction management, including a Bachelor and Master of Architecture and formal studies in Building Design Management, Joey brings a rare combination of design expertise and delivery-focused thinking. His approach is grounded in the belief that outstanding outcomes are achieved through both thoughtful design and a well-executed process.
Raised in a construction focused family, Joey developed an early appreciation for the relationship between design and construction. This foundation has shaped his ability to navigate projects from concept to completion, balancing creativity, practicality, and buildability awareness at every stage.
Joey is passionate about crafting homes that resonate with the people who live in them. Through careful listening and meaningful collaboration, he creates spaces that reflect each client's lifestyle, aspirations, and values. His ability to translate complex requirements into clear, buildable design solutions ensures projects are not only inspiring and enduring, but also efficiently and confidently delivered.

That’s where Residence is born. Bricks and mortar behind me is now the family home I grew up in.
The earliest influence on how space can come together to create a family home. How we inhabit and live within the space is the defining architecture.

jessie, Student of Architecture
Jessie brings a strong creative sensibility informed by art, fashion, and architecture. She is completing her Master of Architecture at the University of Sydney and actively contributes to Residence projects, taking a hands-on approach to her sketch-based design process. Jessie thinks through sketching and the fluidity of her ideas can be seen throughout the (sometimes chaotic and messy) studio.

Sophie, Student of Architecture
A Master of Architecture student, Sophie applies both technical expertise and critical thinking to her work on Residence projects. Since joining the studio, she has continued to refine her technical documentation skills and adds a thoughtful, creative perspective to the team. Sophie is a seasoned baker and if you are lucky, there may be some pastries at your design consult.
